Den to Den – A great run for a Great Cause
Saturday, 18th October will be remembered as a day full of community spirit, laughter, and adventure as the much-anticipated Den to Den event took place in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support. Starting at the Lions Den in Haslemere and finishing at the Lions Den in Midhurst, this unique challenge brought together people of all ages and abilities — runners, walkers, hikers, and cyclists — united by a common goal: to raise funds for a cause close to many hearts.
Some of the ever-enthusiastic Midhurst Milers proudly took part, representing their club with energy and smiles from start to finish. Participants had the freedom to choose their own route, as long as they headed south towards Midhurst, making every journey as individual as the people taking part. The atmosphere at the start line in Haslemere had a real sense of community spirit, as walkers, hikers, and strollers set off first at 10:00am, followed by the runners at 12:30pm, and finally those on two-wheelers at 1:00pm. The staggered start kept the trails lively throughout the day, with cheers and encouragement echoing through the countryside.
Adding an extra touch of fun and excitement, eight Golden Tickets were hidden along the routes, waiting to be discovered by lucky participants. Each ticket came with prizes galore, sparking a real sense of adventure and friendly competition among those taking part. Whether on foot or on wheels, everyone embraced the spirit of the day — enjoying the rolling hills, autumn colours, and shared camaraderie that made the event so special.
By the time participants reached the finish line at the Lions Den in Midhurst, there were tired legs but plenty of smiles, laughter, and well-deserved refreshments at the Lions Den Midhurst. The Den to Den proved to be more than just a physical challenge — it was a heartwarming day that showcased the power of community and the joy of coming together for an incredible cause.
