Milers Christmas Party 2025
The Midhurst Milers celebrated another wonderful Christmas party on 28th November at the Old Library. Rupert once again did a fantastic job organising the evening, and we were treated to delicious homemade lasagne, salad, and tiramisu kindly catered by Valeriana Farretti.
It was a great chance for everyone to catch up, relax, or hit the dance floor and look back on another year of running.
A huge well done to the winners of this year’s trophies — your hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment truly stood out.
A well-deserved trophy also went to Paul Williams, who was the last man standing at the very first Midhurst Milers Backyard Ultra, completing an impressive 12 yards — 50.25 miles.
Ben and Lilla officially joined the 100 Mile Club in 2025 after completing their first 100-mile race. An incredible achievement and a moment worth celebrating.
The Milers Miler 2025 trophy was presented to Sarah Jenkins. Sarah has made a huge impact on the club — not only as an accomplished runner with several ultramarathons to her name, including the Lakeland 50 this year, but also through her dedication to building the hugely successful Junior Milers. Week after week she plans fun, varied sessions and race opportunities for the kids, and it has transformed that side of the club.
The Richard Smith Trophy was awarded to James Jenkins for his outstanding commitment to the club. James is always the first to arrive and set up at events, keeps the website and social media running smoothly, and still finds time to put in some solid running himself. Chosen by the committee, this award recognises the huge amount of work James puts in behind the scenes.
We also drew our annual ballots, with big congratulations to this year’s lucky winners:
Tom Colwell, who secured a place in the London Marathon, and Ben Perides, who won the entry for The Serpent.
A brilliant set of achievements all round, and a fantastic way to round off another year for the Milers.
